Conference on innovation in irrigation management through agroclimatic networks, satellite images and geographical information systems

The LIFE AGROgestor project was presented by the project coordinator Alberto Lafarga of INTIA in the “Technical conference on Innovation in irrigation management through agroclimatic networks, satellite images and information systems”, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment Environment, last December 19 in Madrid.

The general director of Rural Development and Forest Policy, Esperanza Orellana, inaugurated the day whose objective explained to the more than 70 experts who met, is to spread the efforts made by different actors for the integration of the agrometeorological information coming from the stations of the Agroclimatic Information System for Irrigation, SIAR, with the images of the different satellites available at the present time, with the objective of improving water management in irrigation, which is of vital importance at the present time. In this sense, the AGROgestor project will develop an innovative platform AGROgestor will make available to users the key tools of the 21st century, allowing collective managers to make full use of the new applied technologies in their farms.
